1 .GARUD SHAKTI (GS-2): is a bilateral joint special forces exercise between India and Indonesia. It aims to enhance military cooperation, understanding, and interoperability between the Special Forces of both armies.
The aim of Exercise GARUD SHAKTI 24 is to acquaint both the sides with each other’s operating procedures, enhance mutual understanding, cooperation and interoperability between the Special Forces of both armies.
The Exercise is designed to develop bilateral military cooperation and strengthen bond between two armies through conduct of discussions and rehearsal of tactical military drills.
The Exercise will involve planning and execution of special operations, orientation to advance special forces skills, sharing of information on weapon, equipment, innovations, tactics, techniques & procedures. Joint Exercise GARUD SHAKTI 24 will also involve jointly practicing Special Forces Operations in Jungle terrain, strikes on terrorist camps and a Validation Exercise integrating basic and advance special forces skills apart from gaining an insight into the lifestyle and culture of both countries to foster military cooperation.
2 . Black hole triple(GS-3): In a groundbreaking discovery, astronomers have identified the first-ever triple black hole system. This cosmic oddity, known as V404 Cygni, challenges our current understanding of black hole formation. Traditionally, stellar-mass black holes are believed to form from the explosive collapse of a massive star. However, V404 Cygni throws a wrench in this theory.
Scientists have discovered the first-ever triple black hole system, V404 Cygni. This challenges our understanding of black hole formation, as it suggests a direct collapse scenario rather than the traditional supernova-driven process.
V404 Cygni, a microquasar, has been extensively studied for decades. However, recent research revealed it's not a binary system but a triple system, with two stars orbiting a central black hole. One star orbits closely, while the other is significantly farther out.
This distant star's existence contradicts the expected "natal kick" from a supernova, suggesting a direct collapse formation. Simulations support this hypothesis.
The distant star's current stage indicates the system's age at around four billion years. Future studies using advanced instruments like GRAVITY will provide further insights into this unique triple black hole system.
