  1. Digital Public infrastructure: DPI is an evolving concept, but there is growing consensus on it being a combination of (i) networked open technology standards built for public interest, (ii) enabling governance, and (iii) a community of innovative and competitive market players working to drive innovation, especially across public programmes.


Digital public infrastructure (DPI) could help India become an $8-trillion economy by 2030, according to a report by the National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) and Boston-based management consulting firm Arthur D Little International. (mint)


2.The Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), launched on October 2, 2014, by PM Narendra Modi, aims to create a clean, open defecation-free India.

It has two parts: SBM (Gramin) for rural areas, focusing on toilet construction and ending open defecation, and SBM (Urban) for improving urban sanitation and waste management.


Key achievements include building over 100 million toilets and significant progress in reducing open defecation.


3.The Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), launched in 2019 by the Government of India, aims to provide safe and adequate drinking water to all rural households through functional tap connections by 2024.


The mission focuses on ensuring water security, promoting rainwater harvesting, and efficient water management. It also emphasizes community participation in water conservation and sustainable use.


4.India and UAE ink MoUs on nuclear energy, petroleum:


During the official visit of Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, India and the UAE on Monday signed several significant Memoranda of Understandings (MoUs), paving the way for cooperation between the two nations in sectors like nuclear energy and petroleum.


An MoU was signed between Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC) and Nuclear Power Cooperation of India Limited (NPCIL) for the operation and maintenance of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the UAE.


Also, an agreement for long-term LNG supply between Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Indian Oil Corporation Limited was signed, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a press release.


MoU between ADNOC and India Strategic Petroleum Reserve Limited (ISPRL); Production Concession Agreement for Abu Dhabi Onshore Block 1 between Urja Bharat and ADNOC; and MoU between the Government of Gujarat and Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company PJSC (ADQ) on food parks development in India were signed.


5.Gulf Cooperation Council: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is a regional intergovernmental organization established in 1981.


It consists of six Middle Eastern countries: Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman. The GCC aims to foster economic, political, and security cooperation among its member states.

It focuses on areas like economic integration, defense collaboration, and cultural ties, while addressing regional challenges collectively.


The council plays a significant role in shaping the political and economic landscape of the Gulf region.
