1 .French Open Champion (2025): Coco Gauff recently won her first French Open title, defeating Aryna Sabalenka in a thrilling three-set final (6-7(5), 6-2, 6-4).
The French Open, formally known as Roland Garros, stands as one of the four prestigious Grand Slam tournaments in professional tennis, uniquely distinguished by its use of outdoor red clay courts.

Held annually in late May and early June at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France, this tournament is renowned for its slower surface, which promotes extended rallies, higher ball bounces, and a strategic emphasis on topspin and player endurance.
With a rich history dating back to 1891, the French Open became "Open" in 1968, allowing both amateur and professional players to compete for the coveted Coupe des Mousquetaires (men's singles) and Coupe Suzanne Lenglen (women's singles) trophies.
2 .Colombia: General Studies Paper-I (Mains) - Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society
located in the northwest corner of South America, is a country of extraordinary geographic and cultural diversity. Bordered by Panama, Venezuela, Brazil, Peru, and Ecuador, it is the only South American nation with coastlines on both the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean.
The country's dramatic landscapes range from the towering Andes Mountains to the lush Amazon rainforest, from tropical beaches to the unique páramo ecosystems.

This geographic variety makes Colombia one of the world's most biodiverse countries, ranking second only to Brazil in species richness, with 10% of Earth's biodiversity including iconic species like the Andean condor and thousands of orchid varieties.
Historically, Colombia was home to advanced pre-Columbian civilizations like the Muisca and Tayrona before Spanish colonization in the 16th century. It gained independence in 1819 under Simón Bolívar and became part of Gran Colombia before emerging as a separate nation.
Economically, Colombia is a regional leader with major exports including coffee (third largest producer worldwide), emeralds (supplying 60% of the global market), and cut flowers.

It was on this very day in 1936 that the Indian State Broadcasting Service (ISBS) was officially rechristened All India Radio (AIR), laying the formal foundation for what would become one of the world's largest public service broadcasters. While broadcasting began earlier with private initiatives, this date solidified the national network's identity.

The beloved name "Akashvani," meaning "voice from the sky," was later adopted in 1956, a poetic suggestion often attributed to Rabindranath Tagore.1 Over the past nine decades.
4 .The Group of Seven (G7)General Studies Paper-II (250 Marks) – Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International Relations
is an informal intergovernmental forum comprising the leaders of seven major industrialized democracies: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. While not a formal international organization with a founding treaty or enforcement powers.
Its members are united by shared values, including a commitment to freedom, human rights, democracy, the rule of law, prosperity, and sustainable development.
The G7 originated from an informal gathering of finance ministers in 1973, known as the "Library Group," formed in response to global economic turmoil, particularly the oil crisis.
The first official summit of heads of state and government took place in 1975, initially as the "Group of Six" (G6), and Canada joined in 1976 to form the G7.

The European Union has also participated fully in G7 discussions since 1977.
The forum expanded to the "Group of Eight" (G8) with Russia's admission in 1998, but it reverted to the G7 in 2014 following Russia's annexation of Crimea.
Over time, the G7's agenda has significantly broadened beyond economic and financial matters to encompass international security, climate change, global health, sustainable development, counter-terrorism, gender equality, and emerging technologies.
Throughout the year, ministers from various policy areas hold meetings to prepare for the summit, and senior government officials, known as "Sherpas," play a crucial role in negotiating policy initiatives. Recent summits highlight the G7's active role in addressing contemporary crises, with the 50th G7 Summit in Italy (2024) focusing on the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, including a significant agreement to provide Ukraine with a $50 billion loan from frozen Russian assets, and the 2023 summit in Japan emphasizing global peace and a world free from nuclear weapons.
