1 . 11th National Handloom Day:

General Studies Paper-II (250 Marks) – Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International Relations

The 11th National Handloom Day is being celebrated on August 7, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, with the Honorable President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, as the Chief Guest.

This day is a commemoration of the launch of the Swadeshi Movement on August 7, 1905.


The Swadeshi Movement was a landmark moment in India's freedom struggle that promoted the use of indigenous products and production processes, particularly handloom textiles, as a form of economic resistance and a symbol of self-reliance.


In 2015, the Government of India officially declared August 7 as National Handloom Day to honor the contribution of the handloom sector to the nation's socio-economic and cultural fabric.


Theme: "Weaving Innovation into Tradition" and "Handlooms – Empowering Women, Empowering the Nation," highlighting the crucial role of women in the sector and the push for modernization.


2 .SheLeads II Programme:

General Studies Paper-II (250 Marks) – Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International Relations

it aims to help bridge the representation gap, given that women currently hold only 14% of seats in the 18th Lok Sabha. SheLeads II equips women with the necessary skills and networks to prepare them for leadership roles and to contest upcoming elections


The second edition of UN Women's flagship capacity-building programme, SheLeads II: Workshop for Women Leaders, was recently inaugurated in New Delhi by the Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt. Annpurna Devi.


3 .Sagarmala

General Studies Paper-II (250 Marks) – Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International Relations

is a flagship Programme of the Government under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways which aims to unlock the untapped potential of India's extensive coastline, navigable waterways, and strategic maritime trade routes for port-led development and coastal community upliftment.


By leveraging coastal and waterway transportation, the program aims to minimize the need for extensive infrastructure investments, thus making logistics more efficient and improving the competitiveness of Indian exports.
