4 .INDIAB: is an acronym for the Indian Council of Medical Research-India Diabetes Study. It was a large-scale epidemiological study conducted to assess the prevalence of diabetes and its risk factors across India.

Objectives of the ICMR–INDIAB Study

The primary objectives of the study are to determine the prevalence of diabetes mellitus and prediabetes in India by estimating the state-wise prevalence of the same and to compare the prevalence rates in urban and rural areas across the country.

The additional objectives of the study are to determine the prevalence of hypertension, dyslipidemia, and coronary artery disease (CAD) among subjects with and without diabetes and to assess the level of diabetes control among self-reported diabetic subjects.

4. DANA : a weather phenomenon characterized by the collision of cold and warm air masses, has caused devastating flash floods in Spain, resulting in significant loss of life.

This phenomenon, often referred to as "gota fria" or "cold drop," is becoming increasingly frequent due to climate change.

The warm Mediterranean waters contribute to the rapid rise of hot air, forming dense, water-laden clouds that can remain stationary for extended periods, intensifying their destructive potential.

Experts warn of an increase in such extreme weather events in the future, emphasizing the urgent need for effective early warning systems and public awareness campaigns to mitigate the risks associated with flash floods.
