1 .Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)
General Studies-III (250 marks)Technology, Economic Development, Biodiversity, Environment, Security, and Disaster Management
will launch two satellites tonight from Sriharikota to demonstrate the docking and undocking of spacecraft in orbit, which will make India the fourth country in the world to achieve the feat.
ISRO’s warhorse rocket, Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) will place the two satellites — SDX01 and SDX02 — in a 476-km circular orbit and attempt the Space Docking Experiment (SpaDEx) in the first week of January.
The SpaDEx mission is expected to be a stepping stone for India’s future endeavours in space exploration which include getting rocks and soil from the moon on Earth, the proposed Bharatiya Antariksha Station and landing an astronaut on the lunar surface. Only the US, Russia and China have mastered space docking technologies.
2 .WAVES:
General Studies-III (250 marks)Technology, Economic Development, Biodiversity, Environment, Security, and Disaster Management.
India will host the inaugural World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) from February 5 to 9, 2025.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced this during the 117th episode of his radio program Mann Ki Baat. The summit aims to boost India's media and entertainment industry globally and will cover key areas like Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC).
World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit, known by the acronym WAVES, will be a key forum for promoting discussions,
collaboration, and innovation in the M&E industry. The event will bring together industry leaders, stakeholders, and innovators to discuss prospects, challenges, promote trade to India, and influence the sector's future.
3.The Durand Line
General Studies-II (250 marks)Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice, and International Relations.
is the international border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. It was established in 1893 by an agreement between the British Indian Empire and the Emirate of Afghanistan.
It is named after Sir Henry Mortimer Durand, the British diplomat who negotiated the agreement. The line is recognized by Pakistan as its official border with Afghanistan, but Afghanistan has never officially recognized it.

The Durand Line is a source of tension between the two countries, as it divides the Pashtun people, who live on both sides of the border. The Pashtun population on the Afghan side of the border has long called for the line to be abolished, while the Pakistani government has consistently refused to do so.
