The 14th edition of the India-Singapore Joint Military Exercise, named "Bold Kurukshetra 2025," commenced today, July 28, 2025, in Jodhpur, India.
The exercise will continue until August 4, 2025.

This year's "Bold Kurukshetra" is being conducted as a Table Top Exercise and Computer-Based Wargame, focusing on validating operational procedures for mechanised warfare.
It aims to enhance interoperability and joint training capabilities of both armies under a United Nations mandate, thereby strengthening bilateral defence cooperation.
The exercise involves the participation of the 42 Singapore Armoured Regiment of the 4 Singapore Armoured Brigade and the Indian Army's Mechanised Infantry Regiment.
Senior officers from both sides are present, with Colonel Arjun Ganapathi leading the Indian contingent and Lieutenant Colonel Khiew Zhi Yoong heading the Singaporean side.
The exercise will culminate in an equipment display by the Indian Army.
Besides "Bold Kurukshetra" (Army), other joint exercises between India and Singapore include "SIMBEX" (Navy) and "Agni Warrior" (Army, focused on artillery operations).
2 .87th Raising Day :
General Studies Paper-II (250 Marks) – Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International Relations
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) celebrated its 87th Raising Day yesterday, July 27, 2025.
This day is a significant occasion not just for the personnel but also for their families, who play a crucial role in supporting the force.

While the primary celebrations often involve official ceremonies, parades, and recognition of bravery at CRPF headquarters and unit locations across the country, families are an integral part of the Raising Day observance.
3 .Fluoride In Drinking Water:
General Studies Paper-II (250 Marks) – Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International Relations
The Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) – Har Ghar Jal, launched in August 2019, partners with States and Union Territories to provide reliable, high-quality tap water to rural homes.
The mission uses the Bureau of Indian Standards' BIS:10500 as its water quality benchmark.

Because drinking water is a state subject, State and UT governments are responsible for planning, approving, implementing, operating, and maintaining these schemes, including those under JJM.
The Indian government provides technical and financial support.
Under JJM, villages with chemical contaminants, especially fluoride, are prioritized for new piped water schemes, with States and UTs advised to use alternative, safe water sources for these areas.
4 .Divya Deshmukh became the 4th Indian woman to earn the title of Grandmaster with her victory at the FIDE Women’s World Cup 2025.
