1 . (INS) Trikand,

a stealth frigate of the Indian Navy, recently completed a port visit to Limassol, Cyprus, as part of her operational deployment to the Mediterranean Sea.
This visit, which took place from September 21 to 24, 2025, aimed to strengthen the bilateral defense and maritime partnership between India and Cyprus. During its stay, the ship's crew engaged in a number of professional interactions with the Cyprus Navy, fostering mutual understanding and interoperability.
The visit also included a joint naval exercise, or "PASSEX," with the Cyprus Navy, which was designed to enhance cooperation in maritime security.
The ship was also opened to the public, providing a unique opportunity for Cypriot citizens to tour a frontline Indian warship and learn about the Indian Navy's capabilities.
This port call underscores India's commitment to building strong, strategic relationships with countries in the Mediterranean region.

The landmark win, which took place in Kuwait on September 24, 2025, marked a significant milestone for a sport still in its nascent stages in India.
After having been eliminated from the qualifiers following defeats to Kuwait and Australia, the Indian team, known as the "Futsal Tigers," showcased remarkable character and discipline.

Futsal is a variant of association football, commonly known as soccer, played on a smaller, hard court, usually indoors.
The name "futsal" is a portmanteau of the Portuguese or Spanish words for "indoor football" (futebol de salão or fútbol sala).
