General Studies Paper-I (250 Marks) – Indian Heritage and Culture, History, and Geography of the World and Society
Observed annually on April 18th, also known as the International Day for Monuments and Sites, serves as a crucial global reminder of the significance of safeguarding and cherishing our shared human heritage.
This day, proposed by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) in 1982 and officially adopted by UNESCO in 1983, aims to cultivate awareness about the fragility and diversity of our cultural and natural treasures while honoring the dedicated efforts of those committed to their preservation.

The theme for 2025, "Heritage under Threat from Disasters and Conflicts: Preparedness and Learning from 60 years of ICOMOS Actions," underscores the urgent need to address the vulnerabilities of heritage sites in the face of global challenges.
Recognizing that these sites of "outstanding universal value" belong to all of humanity, World Heritage Day encourages worldwide participation in activities that promote their conservation, ensuring that the legacies of the past enrich our present and are passed on to generations yet to come.
As of October 2024, a remarkable 1,223 World Heritage Sites across 196 countries stand as testaments to our collective history, with India proudly hosting 42 of these invaluable locations.

4 .Hallucination:
(General Studies-III (250 marks)Technology, Economic Development, Biodiversity, Environment, Security, and Disaster Management)
AI hallucination occurs when an artificial intelligence system generates incorrect, fabricated, or nonsensical information that is not based on reality or its training data.
This phenomenon is particularly common in large language models (LLMs) and generative AI systems, which produce outputs by predicting patterns rather than truly understanding facts.
For example, an AI might invent a fake historical event, provide a misleading answer to a factual question, or create an image with impossible features, like a cat with five legs.
These hallucinations happen because AI models prioritize generating fluent and plausible-sounding responses over factual accuracy, often filling in gaps when they encounter unfamiliar or ambiguous prompts.
Additionally, limitations in training data or over-optimization for coherence can lead the AI to confidently present false information as truth.
To mitigate this issue, users can refine their prompts for clarity, cross-check AI-generated answers with reliable sources, and rely on models that incorporate real-time data retrieval.
Despite ongoing improvements in AI technology, hallucinations remain a significant challenge, highlighting the importance of critical evaluation when using AI-generated content.
5.Chief Justice of India: CJI Sanjiv Khanna has formally recommended Justice B R Gavai to the Union Law Ministry as his successor, adhering to the established convention of the outgoing Chief Justice suggesting the next in line based on seniority.

General Studies Paper-I (250 Marks) – Indian Heritage and Culture, History, and Geography of the World and Society
located in the southwestern corner of the Arabian Peninsula, is a country of immense historical significance and contemporary geopolitical importance. Bordered by Saudi Arabia to the north and Oman to the east, with coastlines along the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, Yemen controls the strategic Bab el-Mandeb Strait - a critical maritime chokepoint for global oil shipments.
The country's diverse geography ranges from fertile western highlands to the vast Rub' al Khali desert in the east.
Yemen's capital, Sana'a, one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities, along with the ancient port city of Aden, reflects its rich heritage as part of the legendary Sabaean Kingdom (Sheba) and its historical role in the incense trade.
Today, Yemen is embroiled in a devastating civil war that began in 2014 between Houthi rebels and the internationally recognized government, creating what the UN calls the world's worst humanitarian crisis.
The conflict has crippled Yemen's economy, once dependent on oil exports and agriculture (notably coffee, where it gave the world "mocha"), leaving 80% of its 34 million people reliant on aid.
