IE Analysis:

1 .G20 Brazil: In Brasil, the G20 Leaders' Summit is scheduled for November 18 and 19, 2024, in Rio de Janeiro, with the presence of the leaders of the 19 member countries, plus the African Union and the European Union.

The G20 is made up of 19 countries (Argentina, Australia, Brasil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Russia, Türkiye, UK and USA) and two regional bodies: the African Union and the European Union.

ree

The members of the G20 represent around 85% of the world's GDP, more than 75% of world trade and around two-thirds of the world's population

2 .Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation: is a premier forum for 21 Pacific Rim member economies that promotes free trade throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

  • Founded: November 1989, in Canberra, Australia

  • Headquarters: Singapore

  • Member Economies: 21 countries, including the US, China, Japan, Canada, Australia, and many others

  1. PAIR initiative: The Partnerships for Accelerated Innovation and Research (PAIR) initiative is a program launched by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) to enhance the research capabilities of Indian universities, particularly central and state public institutions.

    Key Objectives of PAIR:

    • Stimulate scientific innovation: Encourage research in institutions with limited research capabilities by providing mentorship from top-tier institutions.

    • Support internationally competitive research: Promote research that can compete globally and have a significant impact.

    • Foster collaborative networks: Create strong collaborations between diverse institutions to share knowledge and resources.

4 .The Amazon rainforest, a vast expanse of lush greenery, is a vital part of our planet's ecosystem. It's the world's largest tropical rainforest, covering much of northwestern South America.

The Amazon is a vast biome that spans eight rapidly developing countries—Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, and Suriname—and French Guiana, an overseas territory of France.

The landscape contains

  • about one in 10 known species on Earth

  • 1.4 billion acres of dense forests

  • 20% of the world's liquid freshwater

  • 2.7 million square miles in the Amazon basin, about 40% of South America

ree

There is a clear link between the health of the Amazon and the health of the planet. The rain forests, which contain an estimated 150-200 billion tons of carbon, help stabilize the local and global climate. Deforestation releases significant amounts of this carbon, which is having negative consequences around the world.
